Remember that old saying, “save the best for last”? Sony certainly does. After everything was thought to have been said and done at their press conference, Andrew House, President and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment, dropped their biggest bombshell of the night. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
The screen was black as viewers were unsure of what to expect, then, “Naughty Dog” flashed across and everyone held their breath. The familiar voice of Nathan Drake chimed, followed by the familiar voice of his long-time partner and friend, Victor “Sully” Sullivan.
Drake tells Sully he wants to get back into the dangers of his former life. “He will embark on a globe-trotting journey in pursuit of a historical conspiracy behind a fabled pirate treasure”, taken from Naughty Dog’s website. Uncharted 4 will push Nathan to his limits and test his resolve as he goes in search of a fabled pirate treasure.
The game will be run in 60 fps, which you can see in a full 1080p trailer on Naughty Dog’s website, taking advantage of the Playstation 4’s power. “All footage you see in the trailer was captured completely in engine. We’re targeting 60fps for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and as you can see the visual fidelity for our character models will reach new heights. In fact, thanks to the power of the PS4, right now Drake’s Uncharted 4 model is over double the polygons of Joel from The Last of Us PS3,” also from Naughty Dog.
The game is set to launch in 2015 and you can already pre-order it here.
